Dosage of cefxin Axetil
Adults 750 mg thrice daily i.m or i.v. Severe infections: 1.5 gm daily i.v. Total dose 3-6 gram daily
Children and infants: 30-100 mg/kg body weight daily in 3-4 divided doses.

Neonates: 100mg/kg body weight i.v. daily

It is recommended to take this medicine after having food as it gets into the blood stream more efficiently when it is taken with food. Although it can be taken on an empty stomach, cefxin taken at mealtime reduce stomach upset and increase drug absorption.
